My weekend project

Go Kristy! It's your birthday. Ok, really its not, but count me down for 2 posts in 1 day! Ok, back to the point...

I have wanted to redecorate Austin & Kayla's room for a long time. I wanted each of them to have their own space in the room so we didn't have to give up the supersize playroom for an extra bedroom. My mom and I and another little busy-body helper to remain nameless, ahem, Austin, upholstered headboards for them and made them matching pillows. I bought them new bedding that is super cute too. I decided since Austin's furniture was only a few years old that I would just stain it a darker wood to match the look I have visioned. Well, that was a fiasco! After 3 coats and 57 trips to Lowe's, I gave up and decided to paint the darn furniture brown, Iced Espresso to be exact. It turned out great! I ordered 2 black and white prints online that I cna't wait to get framed and hung! I also have to find coordinating lampshades for the lamps and I'm also going to paint the knobs for the furniture a brushed aluminum color. I really think it came together nicely! I'm proud of their room for sure! Thanks Mom for all your help!
