Opening Day

What a day! We stayed out until 12:30 this morning decorating our float. We had to be back at the stadium at 8:00, left for the parade at 9:00 had opening ceremonies at 10:00. Went to grab a quick bite to eat and headed to our 12:30 game. What does all that mean? It means you have 9 sleepy hot cranky boys. At any minute I was expecting Billy Bob Thornton to walk out with us Bad News Bears T's. Those kids were throwing their gloves down, running towards the car, sitting down crying in the dirt, refusing to go onto the field, watching balls roll right past them as they stood there with folded arms. I swear I needed a xanax. I was in charge of the batting line up so as I'm trying to get the batters ready while keeping 8 others inside the fence, I got nailed in the knee cap by a sweet little kid who I asked 5 times to PUT THE DAMN BAT DOWN! My Lord, if the next game doesn't go any better, I might have to be medicated to make it through the season. Austin was tired and whiney too. I'm not proud to say that he acted a fool just like the rest of them. He was tired and grumpy like the rest of them. I really hope that things turn up from here!
