I ♥ Publix & Southern Savers

My sister told me about this site www.southernsavers.com a few weeks ago and I didn't pay much attention. That was until I became a self-employed stay at home mom for the time being. It was a HUGE learning curve to figure out how to do this and I'm still by far not a couponing pro that some of the frugalicious people out there are but I'm off to a great start. It's almost like a sport to me now!

This is what all I got today from Publix... you aren't going to believe how much it cost-- and it was completely legit! I almost feel like I'm stealing, but I promise it's 100% fair and legal.

Brawney Paper Towels
2 boxes Cheez Its
Ziplock Sandwich bags
2 boxes of Jello
2 packages of cookie mix
2 tubes of Crest toothpaste
1 colgate toothbrush
2 boxes Supersoft Pretzels
1 Edwards Singles Key Lime Pie
2 24ct Popsicles
2 packages Beef Ball Park franks
Sara Lee buns
2 containers Heluva Good dip
6 pc Dannon Crush Cups
2 jars Hellmanns Mayo
2 jars Mt Olive Pickles
5 lb bag baking potatoes
2 packages boneless skinless chicken tenders
Dawn w/ bleach
2 packages Kraft Singles

Are you ready for this? The original retail cost for all this was $90.34. I spent a total of $34.61 out of pocket ($29.97 + tax) Thats pretty crazy huh? I saved 62%. Some of these people have like a 95% savings... I still don't see how they do that, but I'm working on it.

I also got from CVS a bottle of Tide, a bottle of Febreeze air freshener, a glade fragrance collection candle and a Bounce bar that is supposed to last 2-3 months and my fussy, dying of thirt son had to have a Sprite for $1.59 (I hated buying that! I didn't have a coupon and you can get a 2 liter from Walmart cheaper!). My total out of pocket for all that was $8.54. Pretty impressive huh? The Tide alone was more than $8.54 originally.

Anyway, thanks for letting me share my excitement! It's the little things in life that make me happy these days :)

WOW! I'm impressed. That's awesome... I guess I'm just lazy b/c I've never been a coupon type of person but maybe I should be.
