Everyone survived without xanax

Alex had her first Cheernastics competition on the Saturday that we had Christmas at Granny's. That whole day was a fiasco. I knew I had to get up super duper early to get everything ready and be at the BJCC by 11:48 (such an odd time, that that was exactly when it started and since it was only 3 minutes long there wasn't even a tiny margin for error to be running late). So, I get up at 6:30, get to Sam's to pick up the food for our dinner by 8:00. Turns out, Sam's doesn't open for non-business members until 9:00, so i cover up the top of my card and scoot on by the nice lady at the door. (Oh, I renewed our membership Monar!--Turns out our cards are expired too!) So, I get everything I need and pray that the cashier didn't bust me for not being a member-- oh but she did. After a little begging, she lets me check out. Off I go... rushing to get home and as I come down the hill in Hueytown I see an man and 2 kids walking by McDonalds. Strange I thought, buyt oh well. Then I realize that the Hueytown parade is about to come through. Both entrances to my neighborhood are blocked my police. I'm sitting there, the first car trapped. I try to back up and the cop sees that I'm struggling so he flags me to go on as the marching band is quickly about to make a left hand turn in front of me. So, I gas it and all of a sudden, I am the grand marshall of the Hueytown parade. So embarrassing. Those kids were looking at me like I was the grinch because I wasn't throwing candy. At this point, I seriously started thinking about tossing some roast beef off the tray I just picked up, but I decided against that. So, I rush in, pick up Austin get him dressed and fly out again. Yep, you guessed it. Stuck by the parade again. So, now I am the first car on my street trying to get out of the parade crap. So, we see Santa come by on the firetruck as the last float and I put my car in drive to scoot on out again and whoop whoop, the cop tells me to park it. It's like 10:35 at this point and I know that I have to get to the BJCC, park and figure out where I'm going. I plead to him that I HAVE to get out. He slowly clears the road and I'm able to go. One right turn and I'm yet again the caboose of this parade. I find the first street to dip off on that will get me out of this city and off I go. Flying to make it on time. I then realize that I have like $2.00 cash on me because I had given all my dollars for Austin to give the crazy Salvation Army bell ringer at Walmart the night before. I call my dad and ask him if we have to pay to get in and he tells me he doesn't know but he had to pay $7.00 to park. Oh great! I definately don't have time to find an ATM near the BJCC. He agrees to wait on me. So, I'm driving down 17th street and meet my dad on the curb and he saves the day. Gives his poor daughter $7.00 to park. So, I get parked and we run to where we think this thing is. We see people inside but jerking on the doors we can't get in. Turns out, there is an Indian wedding ceremony going on downstairs and we are supposed to be upstairs. For the love. So we finally figure out where we are going, make it inside with 10 minutes or so to spare. It's their time to shine! Alex and her group gets on stage and does a great job! I was so proud of her. She is just like I was as a kid. So shy and afraid of an audience. But she really did great. my pictures suck because I was 1/2 taking pics and 1/2 trying to watch. Alex is the little one in the front on the left side supporting the pyramid.
